Drag Racer named January 2010 Sports Star

Wemen-based Drag Racer Phil Lamattina has been awarded the January m,onthly Sports Star Award for 2010, following an incredible start to the year. Phil took out the third round of the ANDRA Top Fuel series in Perth during January, and remains on top of the championship table after the fourth round in Sydney in February was washed out.

Phil is the recipient of a voucher from Sportspower, and is in the running to be crowned the 2010 Sports Star of the Year at the end of the year. The MSA expects to name the February monthly winner in coming weeks, and is now accepting nominations for the month of March. Nominations are also accepted all year round for the Annual category awards. Nominations can be lodged with the MSA at 255 Eleventh Street Mildura, with forms available from MSA, Sportspower, Harvey Norman and Radio 3MAFM, or from the MSA website.
