Wycheproof IDPWD celebrations a winner

14th December 2009

Rhonda Allan of the Mallee Sports Assembly-Wycheproof conducted an activity morning for something a little different for the clients of the Wycheproof Day Centre, East Wimmera Health Service. Gloria Tomlins co-ordinator of the centre welcomed Rhonda before the group joined in for the old bowls game of Petanque outside on the very green lawn from all the untimely rain we have just received. There were some very close shots but Celie Ison was the final winner who just pipped Sylvie Allan right at the end of the game.

Rhonda spoke of the importance of keeping active, doesn’t matter what age you are and how it helps your health and well-being. It was inside then for a game of quoits which tested the skills of the ladies. Margaret Egan was the winner of this game. Rhonda then told the ladies a couple of funny yarns before all joining in for a game of hookey. Margaret did well again and won outright with 26-well done. Each winner received a “healthy” recipe book, water bottle and healthy tip sheet from “Go For Your Life” program.

Each lady received a “Lucky Ticket” and the two winners were Frances Goddard and once again Margaret Egan. Frances received a “Healthy” recipe book, water bottle and tip sheet while Margaret received a decorated confectionery Christmas tree complemented by tinsel and a Bon Bon.

Following morning tea “Pass the Parcel” was played which was won by Eily Dixon for having the “Nearest Birthday” which will be celebrated on 19th December 2009- enjoy your early birthday present Eily which was a “Go For Your Life’ T Shirt, a blow-up ball and magazine.

Gloria then thanked Rhonda for the morning before many of the ladies were taken to the Christmas Senior Citizens luncheon.
