14th December 2009
Thanks to funding from Rural Access, Small Community Grants-Gannawarra Shire Council, celebrations for Int day for PWD were conducted at the “Powerhouse” Kerang on Saturday 5th December 2009. It was also supported by the Mallee Sports Assembly and International Day for People with a Disability (who kindly donated recycle bags, balloons, stickers, temporary tattoos, pens, friendship bands). We thank this organization for their annual support of this celebrated event.
The morning included various physical activities, lucky ticket competitions, “pass the parcel” and a delicious BBQ lunch which was well cooked by parents Alan Wilkinson and Ian Teasedale. This was followed by yummy desserts prepared by Bev Wilkinson and Alanna Teasedale.
The winner of “Pass the Parcel” was Jarrod Wilkinson who won a pair of sports socks. The two lucky ticket winners were Ashley Teasedale and Linda Warnaar who each won a confectionery decorated Christmas tree complemented by tinsel and a Bon Bon which was done by Rhonda Allan-Mallee Sports Assembly.
This event was very well supported and people came from Kerang, Koondrook and once again it was great to see a car load from Mallee Family Care group of Swan Hill attend our celebrations. We hope you enjoyed your time with us.
Each participant took home a “goodie” bag which included snacks, drink, balloon, friendship band, badges, temporary tattoos, “Go For Your Life” health tips and other brochures from the Mallee Sports Assembly. A great day was had by all.
