Mollies meteoric rise earns her February Sports Star Award

Mollie McKendrick has had a meteoric rise in basketball. Mollie started her basketball in the Red Cliffs competition and last year joined Demons Basketball Club with their U16 team in the Mildura Basketball Association.
Mollie was quickly promoted from the juniors to the Demons A grade women’s team. Mollie was first selected in the Rescom U16 Heat girls’ representative team and also the Lady Heat team where this season she will be a key player.
Mollie’s top scores in A Grade Women have on many occasions been in excess of 20 plus and she is now the Demon’s top scorer for the season. Mollie was selected to play at the Australia Country Cup in January 2009 for the Victoria Country. Mollie played in one of the two teams representing Victoria Country in the Under 18 age group with her team winning the event. Mollie was among the best players for her team in the Grand Final. She has recently tried out and made selection into the Victorian State Under 18 Women’s team.
Mollie receives a voucher proudly sponsored by Sportspower and is now eligible for the 2009 Harvey Norman 3MA FM Sports Star Of The Year Award...... Congratulations Mollie.
